Hi Sven Gali, and welcome to LiveTrigger Magazine! Let’s start by introducing your project: what does make it unique and where is based?

Sven Gali

Sven Gali has a long and rich history of releasing great music and delivering high energy live shows. What makes this record (Bombs and Battlescars) unique is that it will contain previously unreleased demos from the early 90’s.

How was your 2021 so far?

Busy. We just released Spellbound and are completing the tracks for the upcoming record with Canadian Music Legend Andy Curran.

Tell our readers more about your new album release. Are you excited?

The album release date is May 20/22.

And what about the video?

The video features Gil Moore and was filmed at Metal Works Studio where the original song was recorded.

Where do you get inspiration and how do you create your music?

A song usually starts off with an idea and it grows from there. Inspiration comes from the world around us, personal experiences, and fictional ideas

Who are your favourite artists in your local scene and what do they have in common?

Coney Hatch, Rush, Triumph

How did they influence your style & sound?

Those are just my personal choices – each one of us brings in their own musical influences.

In your opinion, what is the connection between music and creativity?

They are one in the same – creating music.

Are you happy about what’s happening in your life as a musician?

Very happy. I play music because I want to, not because I have to. Being signed to a major label in the 90’s and being subject to their vision for my previous band Varga completely turned me off music. The creativity was completely gone.

What’s the most exciting thing that happened to you recently?

Working with Andy Curran.

What about your next gigs. Are you planning a tour?

We have many shows lined up but are not yet ready to announce them due to what’s happening in our world today.

What’s the best live music show you’ve seen recently?

I haven’t seen a live show since December 2019
