Hi Tarah Who?, and welcome to LiveTrigger Magazine! We are really excited to support you in this new exciting release. Tell us everything about it

Tarah Who?

Tarah Who?

CH : Our single is called “Push Me”, it’s a collaboration with our good friends Yur Mum from the UK.
TGC: Hi! Yes! We recorded our parts in LA  with Jason Orme and Yur Mum has recorded theirs with Gabriel Ralls. Then we thought about shooting a music video, and luckily the borders reopened so that we could make that happen! The music video comes out this Friday, January 28th, 2022!

Are you excited about this single launch?

TGC: Very much so!! I am so excited about the song and the music video itself. We had a lot of fun shooting it, it is really different from what we have ever done in the past, so I am eager to see how our viewers are going to react. 🙂

What is the process you use to create your music?

TGC: Well for this song, it was a little different because I wrote the guitar riffs specifically thinking about a collaboration with Yur Mum. Fabio and Ani had some songs they were not using on their new album that they sent to me. Just a couple demos and I combined both ideas together and that is the birth of ‘Push Me’.
Usually for Tarah Who?, I make demos of the whole song and send them to Coco to learn, then we meet and go over the songs. We then go to the studio to track and that is usually a pretty fast process. We have been working with Jason Orme for quite a while now, so we know how to work together. 🙂

And what about the video?

CH : The video for “Push Me” was really fun to film !! We had an amazing time with Yur Mum as always and I feel like the result is even better than we expected!!

TGC: I totally agree with that! Javier (Director) and Alex (DP) did such an amazing making it all happen. We had so many plans just to be prepared and still the day of we had some unexpected events. We still managed to finish on time and everything is looking even better than what we expected!

What are your favourite artists and/or composers?

CH : My favorite band is Nightwish, a Finnish symphonic metal band, I just love this genre !! A few more bands that I really like are Cyhra, Beast In Black and Ghost.
TGC: I grew up listening to 90s rock, punk, grunge. So I was a big fan of the Distillers, RATM, Pantera, Motorhead etc… that’s my jam. 🙂

Do they have anything in common?

CH : I love metal as a genre, more specially symphonic metal, the mix between heavy riffs and orchestra.
TGC : yeah… Anger and booze!

How did they influence your style & sound?

TGC: I think that I listened to them so much that those sounds are in my blood. I like edgy, noisy, fast paced guitars and sounds over solos for instance. Heavy, busy drums! Low bass.. So yeah… this era definitely influenced our sound.

What’s the most exciting thing that happened to you recently?

TGC: We are planning 2022 and the releases for the upcoming months. Things are settling down and it is overall really exciting. I know it is a very vague answer but I can’t say much about what we are about to share with you all. 🙂 What is exciting too is that we are going to be having a zoom meeting on January 31,2022 with Issa Rae and that falls on my birthday! Say what??!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?

CH : We are actually working on our next album for 2022 with new music videos and hopefully some live shows !!

What do you think about Livetrigger?

TGC: I love it! It’s a great concept! To be honest I wasn’t familiar with it until now but I cannot wait to explore more because we, as musicians NEED this! So thanks for creating this platform!

How can our readers follow you on social media?

TGC: @ tarahwho is the safest bet. We are really active on Instagram and  update our website regularly. We are on other platforms but much less active.
