My name is Danny Cassidy, I'm 27 years of age and I have been playing music ever since elementary school. I took piano lessons from then until mid-high school. From there, I continued to play and teach myself because I had a fairly good grasp on music theory and technique. Years back, I wrote some songs on piano, then I started fooling around with the guitar. Transitioning from piano to guitar was generally pretty simple due to all that I had learned prior, but it didn't come without loads of practice of course!
I've recently started recording my original work and posting it on Youtube, Instagram, etc. In the coming months, I am planning on giving music lessons to any beginners struggling to find someone who can keep learning an instrument fun. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked what instrument I play and after my response, the answer is almost always "Oh yeah, I took lessons for a bit when I was young, but lost interest because I wasn't any good." I firmly believe that most people have music ability inside them. They just need a confidence boost, an enjoyable method of learning, and they need to witness the results (however small) of their practicing. Anyway, enough about that.
I'm here looking for small-large events to play. I can bring my stage piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, whatever the event calls for. I have varied arrangements for all of my songs and covers that I can choose for the right atmosphere! I have about 6-7 songs (vocals included) written for guitar, 12-15 originals for piano ready to play, and more than 30 piano instumentals that I can play at any given time.
On top of that, I can learn most covers of songs I've heard more than once or twice in less than five minutes as long as I have the lyrics and chords in front of me (definitely easier to do on piano, but I can make guitar work too). I have about 15 covers prepared that I can think on the top of my head that I can already play without the lyrics/chords in front of me. I can easily fill an hour set and longer if need be! Covers from artists and bands like Ben Folds Five, The Foo Fighters, bands, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, etc. II tend to shy away from the most popular hits and play the ones that mean something special to me. The artists I mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg of my music taste. I take requests!
There's a ton more to my story, but I'm not ready to share it with the world yet. If you want to hear more about my story, would like to collaborate, and/or if you would like me to perform at an event, let me know!
To hear my most current the work (the work I'm most proud of as well), get in touch with me and I'll give you a sample of what's to come in the next week or so.
I work part time and my schedule is pretty flexible on top of that. I'm trying to transition into making music teaching/performing/producing/recording my main source of income. Thank you for your interest.
Hit the Sky (2018)
This album consists of 10 originals written for and played on piano, 9 of which have lyrics. Many of the songs sound way better now though! This was one of my first experiences recording in a studio! I've recently started recording, mixing and mastering own my own.
I definitely prefer the sound of these songs when I play them live, but that may change when I record them myself like my most recent recordings (3-part album listed below)
Piano instrumental album
Cool, Calm, Collected (2020)
This is a 3-part, 27-piece piano instumental album. Basically if I sit down at the piano for 30 minutes, I can usually come up with 3-5 ideas for new tunes in that time. This album is a collection of those ideas and it is also my first experience recording on my own. I've learned a ton since I took this on.
I also have a good amount of songs I've written recently or just never recorded that I constantly play and know by heart. I am in the process of recording those currently.
My Youtube Channel has my most recent stuff. And I'm working on something pretty big right now that I can't wait to release. Send me a message to learn more!
