For the last 6 years or so, we’ve played out 5 or 6 times a year in Greenwich Village NYC, mostly at a club called The Red Lion, which is the best spot in the Village for cover bands. We've also played The Bitter End, The Delancey and Canal Room. We usually do 3 hour sets at The Red Lion to a raging crowd.
Our last set included: Cream, Traffic, The Band, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, U2, The Pretenders, Traffic, The Allman Brothers, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, Springsteen, a Led Zeppelin tune, Joe Cocker, Santana, etc.
We’d like to play more often and for larger crowds. I have good audio and some video clips from as recent a show as last Saturday night. We have a facebook page: facebook.com/ripchordlive with some older video as well.
We started playing together about ten years ago as a friendly get-together kind of thing and it's grown into quite a thing. Over the years we've had a few experiences that although not pretty, brought us closer together as brothers. We lost our original guitar player to an illness, we lost our founding member and bass player to a personalty clash, and we've added other close friends as replacements. In the last 2-3 years we've also added a sax and percussion player to the band, and we have really become an excellent, tight band. Our front man loves to put out.
We are a 6 piece band: Lead vocal, Keys, Guitar, Drums, Bass, Sax.
