Dunelm House - Durham Students Union

Music venue in Durham, UK

Biography

We are extremely interested in establishing our space as not only a students’ union but as a live music/entertainment venue.

We have a large ballroom that, in previous years, has seen artists such as Pink Floyd, Procol Harum, Barclay James Harvest, Mott the Hoople, Siouxsie and the Banshees and even guitar legend Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin perform. Dunelm House is also where Free's bassist Andy Fraser and singer Paul Rodgers wrote the bands most popular song ‘All Right Now.

With such a vibrant, musical history, we took the decision to have a brand new sound and lighting system fitted this summer and we are now looking to hold gigs and events in our 500 capacity Ballroom.

The events themselves do not have to be specifically targeting students as we are open to the general public too.

If you have any interest in tapping into Durham and its music lovers, we would love to hear from you and show you around our venue space.
