Two Fates

Playing with opposites and contrasting attitudes. Two worlds apart, touching each other gently. “/tree” is the first EP, self-produced by Two Fates. The work comes after five years of activity, in which the duo, Loredana Di Giovanni (LorElle) and Giuliano Torelli (Tiresia), performed under different monickers before they perfected their present identity. Prior to publishing their debut EP, Two Fates have been featured in This Is Not a Love Song (To Lose La Track/New Monkey), and spent months perfecting their live sound. On stage, they find themselves in their natural element, where they can foster a relationship with the audience and hone their playing skills, thanks to their very own Two Fates machine, through which they record each instrument in a series of loops, later re-played troughout the songs, in a complex mosaic of emotions. “It’s just the two of us, and yet we sound as if were a band of seven”, the band states. “We actually feel like two kids, who just started sharing their toys, inventing new ways of having fun - at first, we started playing at home, just to see where that would lead us, and that’s eventually how the record came to see the light”. Indeed, the birth of each song represented both a challenge and a small miracle for the band, just like the birth of a tree does, hence the title of EP. “To be honest, the title also stems from a wordplay, plus a tiny nerd detail we keep secret”. LorElle’s voice brings out the magic of fairies, whereas Tiresia paints lunar shadows and psychotropic dreams - together they create this magic debut EP.
