Biography
Surya-Anita and his band, perform an energetic acoustic mix of world music, jazz and funk. The sensitive vocals of Surya-Anita, a french singer, carries the audience to another time. The lyrics of my songs evoke profound themes, personal and universal, which depict society with a touch of love.
More about Surya-Anita Passionate about polyphony, Surya-Anita began to sing gospel in the “Choral Union Gospel” in Lyon, France. In 2002 she moved to Mexico City where she studied Latin Music and Jazz. She sang in national festivals with Latin music projects, Haitian music, jazz and funk, both as a lead and backing vocalist. During this time Surya-Anita's open-minded approach gave her the opportunity to expand her experience and repertoire even further, performing in circus production “Circo de Mente”, at festivals with Cecilia Rascon's children’s show and recording jingles for Mexican television. In 2012, she moved to London and performed with “Malphino” (cumbia and forro).
