Biography

Hope of Africa is an inspirational group of Afro-Pop / Reggae musicians who utilize music to give hope to Africans whiles educating the youth in all spheres of human development. The name Hope of Africa signifies unity in the African community, reflecting their belief in combining their different and unique talents that have been harnessed to make them one of the most entertaining groups in Africa. With many years of experience in the music industry, HOPE OF AFRICA BAND was formed to change the face of music in Africa and also to impact positvely the lives of the youth through their good music. The band which begun opration in 2009 with only 13 members, can now boast of 35 members comprising singers, guitarists, drummers, pianists, trumpeters, percusionists and the rest. Their debut album, Jah Spirit with songs like ‘Jah Spirit’, ‘Hail Jah’, ‘Ghetto life’ earned the group many awards including The Most Popular Reggae Song of the Year. Since the success of their debut album the group have performed at several shows in Ghana, United Kingdom, Cote d'voire and Nigeria among several others. They have also collaborated with many artists including Classic Candles, Ozimzim Band, and the famous dancehall king Shata Wale etc. The group is set to release their Fifth album and already some of the tracks are making the rounds on airwaves. Hope of Africa Band now has four albums to their credit, namely; Jah Spirit, Africa is sick, ooA! Yesu and Stop the War As a result of HOPE OF AFRICA'S exploits here in Ghana and other places, the band has received inumerable invitations from some Ghanaians in the diaspora to thrill the rest of their funs with their captivating rendition. The musicians union of Ghana's (MUSIGA) Pre- Congress bash, Afro-Reggae Night, African Unions Day, Independence day Bash as well as the renowned Music and Food festival among many others are some of the shows the band has chronologically patronized, and gained recognition with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). The group also takes pride in the use of their music by the Economic Communit of West African States (ECOWAS) in promoting peace in the sub region.
