Borned and raised in the gueto of Vila Guilherme in São Paulo, Brazil.
Carlos Almeida Jr. "aka" Junior Dread represents the new generation of counscious reggae music worldwilde. His music brings the positive message of love and "overstanding" to the world. He use his music and lyrics as a "weapon of change" where he found the strenght to overcome all the struggles and barriers. Since 2008 he's been touring with shows in Japan, Germany, Austrália, New Zealand, Portugal, Czech Republic, Spain, London, Scotland, United States.. and all over Brasil spreading the "Word Sound Power" Culture.
On 2016 he went on a big tour with shows in Scotland, Spain, Portugal, London, Germany and Czech Republic. Junior Dread just release his first official album in Brasil, produced by Junior Marvin the guitarrist of the great Bob Marley.His album is reaching the mainstream media all over Brasil. Plus he released two vinyls alongside DUB STUY Records from New York and Moonshine Records from Croatia. Junior Dread have many singles released all over the world with artists like Mungos Hi Fi(Scotland), Dubateers(UK), Chingy(Hip-hop artist from USA) and Chop Chop (Jamaica). On 2014 Junior Dread is featured on "Gorgon Sound" vinyl 12' EP with the track call "Rise". He's featured on the "Reggae Aroma" Mixtape Vol.3 mixed by Dj Yaadcore hostess of the "Reggae Aroma Show" on Hot 102Fm (Jamaica) and the official dj of Protoje. On May 2019 Junior Dread made another great tour on Europe Playing on “International Dub Gathering Festival” in Spain, “Dub Echo” with OBF sound France, “Dubquake” alongside Mad Professor in Switzerland, La Thickita Party Germany. At the end of June he will tour Costa Rica for the first time. Now its the time for Junior Dread put Brasil on the map of Reggae Music Culture worldwilde. He’s working on an Ep with Mad Professor, singles alongside Dj Yaadcore, the Jamaican producer Lamar Riff Raff(Stephen Marley, BusySignal,JahCure...) and other great SoundSystems like OBF.
