Blues musician in London, UK

Biography

Ajay’s critically acclaimed debut album Karmic Blues hit the No.1 spot on the Amazon Blues Album Charts, on the first weekend of its release.

Described in the music press as ground-breaking, Ajay Srivastav is a singer/songwriter and guitar player whose sound flows from the banks of the Delta Blues which influenced him as a child, to the ghats of the Ganges, where he learnt raags from the gurus in his father’s hometown of Varanasi. Blending these influences with spiritual, meditative lyrics, he came back with what he calls ‘Karmic Blues.’

As a musician Ajay has worked with artists as diverse as Jamiroquai, Gregory Isaacs and Zakir Hussain and caught the attention of British music legend Jah Wobble, who has produced two of his songs. He has performed internationally at venues such as the Jazz Cafe and the Queen Elizabeth Hall and festivals like Roskilde, Dam Square and WOMAD.
