BITCH QUEENS: kicking asses on the road since 2008

A high-energy live show, in-your-face riffs, a "fuck you" attitude, playing around Europe since 2008 - any questions!?!

Hi. Tell us your story in 3 sentences.
We’ve been kicking ass since 2008, leaving a trail of broken glass, sweat and glitter through all of Europe. 2. Now we are releasing our new LP “Kill Your Friends” (LuxNoise CH, Strange Magic USA) and will be kicking even more ass in the future. 3. Watch out motherfuckers.

What is your “home ground” area? Tell us something about it
We’re from Basel, Switzerland and there’s really not much to say about it. It’s a good place to be but also a good place to leave, which is why the homesickness doesn’t hurt to much on the road!

What’s the best live act in your area? tell us something about it
There are a lot of bands in our area, a few good ones and a ton of crap, so basically like anywhere. But it’s all a matter of taste. If you’re looking for a good’n’dirty punk rock show you could check out Bitch Queens, I heard they tear up the building pretty nicely.

Which artists have influenced your style & sound, if any?
A lot of our deeper influences come from late 60s or 70s greats like MC5 or the Stooges. But also the middlemen before us who took that sound and played it in more modern ways like The Hellacopters, Gluecifer, the Datsuns, Social D., Danko Jones and many many many more.

Any favourite artists?
Yes, and a lot of them too.

What’s the last live music show you’ve seen?
Uuuummm I think it was Turbonegro at the Weltturbojugendtage in Hamburg.

Beatles or Rolling Stones?
Both. This question is so frequent and so fucking pointless it pisses me off.

Tell us something about your best and your worst memory on the road
There is no one best or one worst memory, there are a lot of both and they kind of overlap as well. Some of our tours have been such a swampy, sweaty, sex-driven and drunk mess, it’s somehow beyond the distinction of “good” and “bad”, it’s just an unforgettably awesome experience.

What do you think about LiveTrigger? Did you manage to book any shows?
We are super supportive of independent and good projects like livetrigger and hope many a band can benefit from it!
So far we didn’t manage to book a show – we hope this will change of course.
