Hi. Tell us something about Cielo Pordomingo project.
Hi guys! I’m Cielo Pordomingo, a musician-composer, singer and songwriter from Argentina. I’ve been making music for several years and I had several previous projects with other musicians, but just about a year ago I presented my first solo album and right now I’m working on the second one!

How is being an artist from Santa Rosa – Argentina? What’s the best live act in your area? Tell us something about it.
I think, right now, in Argentina there´s plenty of musicians, singers and independent bands all doing new music and creating a very interesting musical circuit. There are big music festivals like Lollapalooza, Creamfields BA and a lot of folk music festivals or argentine rock fest where you can enjoy lots of good music throughout the year; but almost everything happens in Buenos Aires, the capital city. And although I was born in Santa Rosa, La Pampa, I lived in Buenos Aires, before moving to Mexico.

Tell us something about “D FRET”, your debut solo album.
I usually say that the D FRET album is fluorescent, asymmetrical, explosive, intimate, electronic, classical, powerful, soft & resonant, because that’s how I feel the music. For me, each song is a journey of sounds and colors. I think it’s an electronic fusion of argentine folk rhythms, mixing classic sounds with synthesizers.

Where did you get inspiration for your music?
Well, a large percentage of my songs describe images, these images generate a state of mind that I translate as feelings that inspire the lyrics and melody. And the colors of these images generate the sound textures. I love movies, and I´m often inspired by the stories that touch my heart.

Which artists have influenced your style & sound, if any?
My musical Influences are Björk, Radiohead, Goldfrapp, St. Vincent, Massive Attack, Portishead, Beethoven, Pink Floyd and a lot of movie soundtracks!

On LiveTrigger.com you define your genre: “Electronic”. What does it mean for you? Tell us something about it.
For me, the electricity of my music lies in two aspects, one is the use of virtual synthesizers sounds that do not try to emulate real instruments; and secondly, the bases of drums and percussion that I work can hardly be touched by a drummer and a percussionist on stage, they sound like machine, and not like hands touching, and I think like that.

What’s the best live music show you’ve seen recently?
The last amazing shows I saw are not recent, and they were Radiohead, Björk and Bajofondo.

Did you plan to have a tour in the next future? Tell us something about it.
Yes, I’d love that! I’m currently working on my second album! And I still do live concerts, promoting D FRET. I´m dying to be in Festivals in every corner of the world! I do not want to stop playing and making music!
