FORSE means maybe, always

FORSE is an artist who doesn't take himself too seriously, his project is made up of songs... that didn't work for his other bands

Hi. Tell us something about Forse project.
Hi everybody. Forse is the solo project of Gianmaria Zanda which are are my given and family names. Forse means Maybe, sometimes I don’t take myself too seriously.

Tell us about your last musical release and about the direction your music is taking.
I still haven’t published anything. My first release will be ready at the end of the year or beginning of the next year. The project started because I had a lot of “songs” I had written but didn’t work for the band where I was playing. I kept the best ones for Forse and goin’ on I grew up musically.

Where did you get inspiration for your music?
I’m influenced by many things but I think that my main interests at the moment are towards genuine and catchy pop melodies, primitive folk, ethnic music and intriguing bass lines.

Which artists have influenced your style & sound, if any?
Velvet Underground, John Cale, Henry Flynt, Kennelmus, John Maus, The Clean, Enzo Carella.

On Livetrigger.com you define your genre: “Lo-fi”. What does it mean for you? Tell us something about it.
Excluding the discussion about sound aesthetics and sound quality, for me Lo-fi means to do the things directly as they comes. No decorations. It could also be called punk, but the word punk has reached a strong connection to a precise sound aesthetic which can confuse people if used to describe my music.

How is being a band from Brusino Arsizio – Switzerland? What’s the best live act in your area? Tell us something about it.
Quiet living? I would say The Pussywarmers.

What’s the best live music show you’ve seen recently?
Bella Veneziae at the Lugano Buskers Festival.

Are you touring right now? Do you plan to have a tour in the near future? Tell us something about it.
I’m not touring. I will probably tour with the upcoming album. Maybe with a band playing with me.

What do you think of Livetrigger.com? Do you think it could be a good tool to facilitate the process of booking and organizing shows? Do you have any suggestions?
I really appreciate the effort in creating all this. I think it could be a good tool if used in the right way. It could connect people from around the world and that’s what should happen between people also then in the real world.
