TO KILL ACHILLES: after shocking Europe with a great tour in 2014, the best band in Scotland is releasing a new album!

TO KILL ACHILLES are six Scottish friends who found some time to answer our questions after an awesome 22-gigs European tour in 2014 and the recording of their new album Existence which will be out soon... Enjoy!

Hi. Tell us your story in 3 sentences.
We grew up together around the same music scene so we formed To Kill Achilles.
We were a bunch of friends who liked to get drunk, now we get drunk and go on tour.
Anything to keep us out of full time boring jobs.

What is your “home ground” area? Tell us something about it
We come from the arsehole of the earth Dundee. We have more junkies per square inch than any other city of the earth hence why we want to see the world. But it’s home.

What’s the best live act in your area? tell us something about it
As a UK band there’s some awesome live acts that are in the scene who we have bumped into while touring. Here Lies a Warning and Fathoms. We like bands who like to party.

Which artists have influenced your style & sound, if any?
Taylor Swift and Slipknot…Its somewhere between those two.

Any favourite artists?
Our van classics are Toto, Queen, Limp Bizkit and Scooter.

What’s the last live music show you’ve seen?
We played Destruction Derby open air fest in Germany where Heart in Hand headlined. They kicked the ass off it and they were awesome guys to get along with.

Beatles or Rolling Stones?
Not one of us can name a Rolling Stones song. We have a theory that Paul McCartney invented the beatdown…come to a show and find out more!

Tell us something about your best and your worst memory on the road.
We toured with Betraying the Martyrs through Romania and Bulgaria, on the first night we took over a pub and nearly caused an international incident. But thats just one of many including strippers in Prague, Crowd surfing in an Irish bar in the Netherlands to Queen, our driver standing in human shit and too many things that can’t be mentioned.
As for the worst we broke down in Hungary where were towed by the mafia and were stuck there for three days which resulted in flying back home. Come to think of it that may have been one of the best.

What do you think about LiveTrigger?
We think it’s really cool, we like the thought of a live music online community.
We like doing interviews like this because we get to let everyone know what actually goes on tour and for us to show who we really are.
