- Hi Kayla and welcome the LiveTrigger magazine.
My name is Kayla and I’m a singer/guitarist based in Wollongong NSW.
I play a variety of Pop and R&B songs whilst playing songs for all ages to enjoy.
I have recently released my first original song and am currently working towards an Album.
How was your 2019 so far?
My 2019 has been great!
But also very busy as I’ve been doing gigs all around the Illawarra, South Coast and Sydney area.
It has been so much fun.
What’s the most exciting thing that happened to you recently?
The most exciting thing that has happened to me recently is releasing my first self written song called ‘’Take It or Leave’’.
Take It or Leave is about being yourself no matter what anyone else thinks and being who you are and knowing that is enough.
It was really exciting getting to show people a bit of who I am.
Where do you get inspiration and how do you create your music?
I get my inspiration from situations that occur in my life and the people around me who shaped me into the person I am today.
Usually, when I’m writing a song I will have an idea and write the lyrics down first and then I will find a melody and the guitar chords that suit the song.
Who are your favourite artists in your local scene and how did they influence your style and sound?
They may sing different genres to me but they definitely inspire me with their stage presence and how encouraging they are to other artists. Unfortunately with gigging on the weekends, it limits the time that I could go to see other artists but there are so many talented artists in my local scene.
What’s the best live music show you’ve seen recently?
She is very talented and put on an amazing show.
What do you like about working with Southern Entertainment?
Josh is a nice and encouraging person and I’m really looking forward to doing gigs and working with Southern Entertainment.
What is your best and your worst memory on the road?
My best memories on the road are getting to play at all different places, getting feedback from the audience and getting to play a variety of covers I love and my own original songs.
I can’t really think of my worst memory on the road as I always have an amazing time at every gig location and everyone is always very supportive and kind.
What do you think about LiveTrigger?
I think LiveTrigger is an awesome site. It is a great way to get my information out to others and for them to know a little bit about who I am.
It is also great to get to learn about others who are also in the same boat as me.
