TYTUS: the new wave of British heavy metal, from Italy!

The band once known as Gonzales, after sharing the stage with band such as Crowbar and Valient Thorr is now packing their bags just before their first Spanish/Italian tour

Hi. Tell us your story in 3 sentences.
We are born from the ashes of Gonzales, a rock’n’roll band with 10 years of live show around Europe..we re-started in the early days of this year with a new name and new sound.

What is your “home ground” area? Tell us something about it
Tytus are from Triest, a strange Italian city on the border with the east. too far from the real Italian influences… here it is like an island..

What’s the best live act in your area? tell us something about it
The best place in Triest is Tetris, a small D.I.Y. club created no-profit by some guys that needed live music in their hometown. It is a place to see good shows of Italian and foreign band, any kind of sound: from grindcore to electronic.. and presentations of books, theater, cinema …a place to be together.

Which artists have influenced your style & sound, if any?
The most important bands that has influeced the sound of Tytus are the old heavy metal bands (like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Angel Whitch, Thin Lizzy), “new sounds” like Vallient Thorr, Witchcraft, Sword, Graveyard, Gypsyhawk and some more “psichedelic” stuff like Hawkwind and Kyuss..

Any favourite artists?
Too many…. as said above … from Thin Lizzy to Kyuss, Rolling Stone to Maiden, Sabbath to Megadeth..

What’s the last live music show you’ve seen?
Personally the last show I have seen are BORDER BASTARD..an amazing band from Triest! a power speed-rock trio, devotees to the Zeke.. check out!!

Beatles or Rolling Stones?
I hate the Beatles… when I was young my father made me listen them every day .. I know they had genius but i don’t have a correct idea.. maybe is too “honey” for me..on the other hand Rolling Stone bored me… but 2 guys in Tytus have a rolling Stones logo tattooed on their arm.. I can not talk bad .. 😉

Tell us something about your best and your worst memory on the road
With Tytus we have few show for now… next month we will go in tour for ten days across Italy, France and Spain…when we will come back sure we will have good tales for you!!

What do you think about LiveTrigger?
I think it is a good idea for diy bands that need help..a sort of great community!!
I like it!
